My daughter has her learner's permit, can she do her driving while taking the course?

Where can I get a driver's log?

For more information on behind the wheel training and and to get a driver's log click here, "To Obtain Your First Driver's License (Class D)" on the DDS website.

Does my student need to have his or her learner's permit before beginning the course?

What if a student is late for class?
Students are required to be on time for this online class just as if they were attending regular class.  If a student is late for class it will be counted as a missed class and he/she will be required to make up this class via the recorded session.  It is up to each student,  to inform his/her instructor on the class they need to make up.  Students will not receive a Certificate of Completion if they have not completed their makeup time.

What if a student's internet goes out?

There is a 2 to 5 minute grace period during class. If the internet goes out while in class and logs back in within the time limit it will not count against them.

What if my student misses class?

Each class and all class exercises are temporarily recorded and archived. If a student misses a class he/she will be able to login and complete the missed class work. Missed classes and all class exercises must be made up within 2 weeks after the session has ended.  It is the student's responsibility to make sure that any missed time and work is complete.  Students with incomplete time or work will not receive their Certificate of Completion.

I see that Fall, Winter and Spring Sessions are for 2 weeks. My student can attend the first week of class but not the second week. Can a student start one week but complete the following week at another time?

Yes. To do this, when registering, select the session for the 1st week the student can attend classes. Then click here to send us an email letting us know when your student will be able to attend the second week of classes. Keep in mind that the second week of classes must be made up no later than 6 weeks after the first week of classes have ended. This option is not available for one week or Summer Sessions.
